I know that it isn't required to "vacuum fill" our coolant systems, but it sure helps, lol!

Where is the cold fill level at now?
Where does the level get to when hot?
Need to know this before "burping".

If the hot level is an inch below the cap you should be able to proceed with the burping, but just be cautious and safe!!

Put a thick towel around the cap and degas bottle when removing it under pressure and keep your face out of the "line-of-fire". Wearing thick leather gloves and a long sleeve shirt will also provide a safety factor. ALWAYS wear safety glasses!

Even though this system is not like a regular radiator cap system, it still has HOT coolant under moderate pressure! Caution and good safety practices are essential! YOU are responsible for your safety, and that of ANYONE around you!

The way to burp it is to get it fully up to operating temperatures AND this should get you to a decent pressure on the degas bottle. Then SAFELY remove the cap to the degas bottle.

You do want to remove the cap fairly quickly so you get a burp instead of a slow hiss. The above mentioned safety precautions will be enough for the burp if properly applied and followed.

I've always just let the system work it out on its own, but I give a little nudge by parking it on a hill with the nose up and running it. Sounds weird but it has worked for me every time. Also, make sure you're not running AC while trying to get coolant level down. Some of these have a heater shutoff valve which activates when the AC is on. That can be a place an air pocket can form as well.
