cause it is so much cooler to have all your lights blacked out so you cant see them. and chrome reflects light, so the cops will see the reflection off the chrome when you are trying to get away after committing a crime and run.

 

I totally concur with this and I don't think you'll ever see my truck or any of my trucks blacked out....I have been thinking about paint matching my grille on my dakota though....strictly because it's the only chrome thing on the truck LOL.... I never understood this either though honestly, and some people are just plain out stupid rude about this, I understand it's the internet....but it doesn't mean you have to be Billy Badass, we've all heard that Brad Paisley song lol.

Got no problem with chrome , just dont enjoy wiping on it. Got rid of both Harleys for that reason and got an KTM 690 Enduro 2008 that stays dirty.

Truck is pretty much chrome free and looks fine after a pressure wash and drip dry.

I do enjoy looking at other folks shiny chromed up vehicles and have the time to do so cause I aint wiping on mine. Call me lazy I guess.

I like chrome on my street truck. But, on my cj7 no chrome it's all go and no show. It all depends what it goes on.

I think Chrysler 300's with chrome bently grilles and chrome 24's to match the chrome door handles, taillight covers and fuel door kinda ruined it for alot of people. Anything in moderation can look good though.

 

Chrome is not bad when used appropriately. I hate seeing trucks with chrome ventshades bugshields door handles and the cheap chrome stick ons everywhere. Just makes it look it cheap IMO.

But when done right truck can look pretty good with the right wheels, nerf bars, grill, bumper ect.

The black wheels is the trend I don't get. If you don't like the shine of chrome or aluminum, just go with steel - much cheaper & tougher as well.

 

Not as many style options in steel....or wheel size/width...our I would have .

Try and find a 20" steel wheel that looks good(preference), that doesn't cost more than $ 400.

Chrome is fine in moderation, but like on the 08+ trucks when you have a huge chrome grille, chrome bumpers, chrome mirrors, chrome steps, polished wheels, it just gets to be too much.....

 

Blacks just a new trend. I'm for both

I'm with the OP on this one. There are very few blacked out trucks I like. The ones I like are the ones that don't look like some one just took a black rattle can to the truck because they don't like chrome. But the same goes for chrome, the vent shades door handles and all that other crap look like #### too. It all has to be done in moderation

 

it's age related. Black looks sinister and the younger crowd likes that. Everyone to his own. I live in Az and the black is too hot & too hard to keep clean with the dust problem here. White with just the oem chrome is enough for me. I bet 90% of the Superduties here are White.

 

Me i personally like the chrome look to a extent. If i could ever figure out how to post pictures from my cell phone id throw some up, but of course my phone is retarded but yet they call it a smart phone. Lol

 

I've always had polished or chrome wheels but I just got a set of black Fuels. I'm surprised that they are actually much harder to keep clean. All my friends told me not to get chrome, for some reason they think it looks "gangsta" if you have any kind of shiny wheels.

Just a matter of opinion. People are going to do what they think looks best. I like black and chrome, but when getting ideas for my truck and comparing several of the same configuration and color my opinion was that the black looks the best hands down.
