Does anyone know where I can by the valve/reservoir that sits on the driver side inner fender? I broke the fitting off the end of the valve that goes back to a small junction block of hoses. I can get pictures if it helps. Brake light is on and the system isnt holding vacuum for the brakes.

Thanks

Faster to post pics directly to the Nation with the "attach" feature (paper clip icon above the editor window). Anyway, that's the vacuum distribution box, aka vacuum manifold. Oh, actually, if it's a single-fitting thing all by itself, with an electrical connector, and at the OTHER end of the hose is the distribution/junction box, then the thing that's broken is the low vacuum sensor. It's the thing that turns the BRAKE light on. One option, to tide you over, is to disconnect that hose from the distro box, at the other end, and put a vacuum cap/plug on that fitting. That would at least restore vacuum to the brake booster and HVAC controls.

Hmm, let's go see if RockAuto might have that part....

Edit - nice; RockAuto has the electrical connector for the sensor (aka low vacuum switch). Also available on eBay. Not the switch itself, though. You're probably looking at a junkyard or part-out.

That's a vacuum line for.... I wanna say.... max A/C? Something with the HVAC, anyway. It'd be a PITA to replace it, because it goes into that vacuum/wire harness and through the firewall to the HVAC control head. Made from megabrittleite snapoffium plastic, specially formulated by Ford to be totally unsuitable to harsh conditions like under the hood. Typical fix is to find the other end that goes into that harness (you may have to peel/cut back some of the outer sheathing of the harness) and repair it. You can do so by shoving each broken end into a short stretch of regular vacuum hose, whatever inside diameter would create a tight fit. Or slip some heat shrink tube over it.

I broke that hose on one of our trucks one winter, out at the cabin, no spare parts, etc. My wife got an idea, pulled the little pickup tube out of the inside of a pump bottle of hand sanitizer, we slipped it over as a patch and taped it up. TBH, I've forgotten about it all these years, and it's still holding up....
