So im looking at a powermax to pair with some 155's set to go in the truck in two weeks. reviews with this combo? 500 horsepower capable and be able to tow? that is my goal... lowering soon as well.

Yeah that has been done already and have been proven to be an awesome combo for towing. It wont make 500hp when used with a tow tune, but will make 500 with a race file.
Sure it would be great for towing, but 500 with a race tune? Please prove me wrong, but I doubt it with 155's on any legitimate dyno with times to match. It is tough to break 500, and have you done it with your combo? Just curious? I am a member of the 500+hp 6.0 club and I doubt 155's will get you there on a legitimate dyno with times to match. Not trying to be negative, just know what it takes.
I love the moderate FICM tuning eric did to my FICM. Made throttle response way better....hence the turbo being less laggy. It made a very noticable difference and from what i've been told...the moderate FICM tuning will net roughtly 25-30 hp.
My set up is with a stock turbo...... and I would venture to say I am close to 500 if not over.... the very next thing I am going to do after paint will be a trip to the dyno.....
You wont make anything close to 500hp without bigger injectors or some sort of injections(water, NOS, propane)with just stock turbo and stock injectors. Even if you have a bigger fuel system.
maybe 440 at the crank... im guessing a stock turbo, stock injector tuned 6.0 would make 350...375 at the wheel on a dyno. a 155 with a tune plus another 8-10 psi from a powermax would have to net at least 100, conservatively. So with a race tune, high 4--'s are probably likely...all i want is 499.51......lol
Fwiw...400+ trucks with just a tune is not that common. I had all the supporting fuel system mods with my hot tune an only did 380. I have 190's and a powermax now and I'm still not sure if I'm north of 500. Either way 155's would still be a fun truck on the street
a stock turbo with 190s will put you at 500 or even a little more. ive seen it done. i wouldnt upgrade turbos for a set of 155s. you will be surprised how little of a difference there is from stock.
My truck with stock intake, stock exhaust (including muffler and cat in place) with nothing but Erics race tune put down 466... doesn't mean I believe it. I bet it wont get backed up on the track. In fact I ran a 1/4 mile using a dash mounted data logger and with my weight it put me at 421 rwhp.
For the record, I put down 378hp with a stock turbo, stock injectors, a fuel system, and a race tune from IDP. Thats with 37s and 22s. I imagine if I added 155s and a powermax I'd be sitting at 475, maybe a little over 500 with 190s.
I don't know how much HP tires really take, but when i was at the dyno back in '06 when a guy put down 502hp he did it on stock rims and tires AFTER he hit around 460ish i think with 35" nitto mud grapplers. I was suprised to see 35" tires take that much HP away.
I'm sorry, but i don't mean to bicker either, but how do you know my 190's haven't been reworked. You're acting as if you know more about my truck than i do. I would definitly like to know though how much HP it is makeing. It would make my mind more at ease to really know for sure. I don't have a dyno place anywhere close to me or a track. But my edge insight will record 1/mile times the same as a track will...so maybe when it gets nice out i can get my truck out and find a good flat 1/4 mile stretch of road to run it then see what the HP calculator says.
What's wierd is that every dyno isn't the same. You can dyno your truck's setup on one dyno and make "Y" hp then run it on another dyno and make quite a bit more or less hp\ without even changin the truck's setup.
As far as makin more or less power depending on the dyno also depends on the day, air temp, altitude, all different types of variables. one guy can be making 550 horse at sea level take the same truck to a dyno in colorado and it will make way less then that. point being nobodys numbers will be the same unless they are run at the exact same dyno on the exact same day, so please end the bickering.
