Let me start by saying I'm a noob to the diesel world. I've been tuning my gas cars with sct prp for years now, but have just now got a E99 7.3L PSD F350.
3 of the injectors needed replacing so I ordered a full set of Casserly stg1 single shots. I realized that I would need to tune for these, so I called up SCT and bought a license for the PCM in my truck which is the XLE4.
Now comes the big question. How do you go about adjusting the file to work with single stage injectors? From reading whatever I could google across forums, I'm basically seeing that two things need to be taken care of, one is to retard injection timing and the other was to adjust the pulsewidth. Are there basic adjustments that have been proven to work?
I understand this is a BIG topic, but it seems there's a good number of tuners out there that have figured this out and can crank out tunes that work great so I'd imagine the DYI market could do so as well.
Lastly, I did some more google searching and links came up to what looks like a dead section in this forum for DYI Tuning, is this all gone now? Seems like there were some really interesting discussions about this in there, but I couldn't post since it looks like that section is gone.
I'd really appreciate any feedback. I'm not entirely opposed to just getting someone to do the tuning for me, but I've already paid for a license for my PCM and always like to tinker with this stuff myself so I'd prefer to do it.
