Anyone who owns a TS 6 position chip have any complaints or compliments about them? Looking to get an on the fly type chip for my 96 ford. Looked at the Bullydog 4 position but like more versatility of the TS. Is there a difference?

The generic tunes from ts suck, don't have any experience with bully dog products. A ts custom tuned 6 pos is the way to go, I love mine. Look into a tony woodman tuned ts chip. Loved his tunes when my truck was still stock.

Oops.... using my ipad, autocorrect is a pain sometimes

I wouldn't say that the TS stock tunes suck...On a stock truck they are just fine, however if you have any mods or plan on future mods then I would say that the stock TS tunes are definitely not ideal

I only say that from experience had issues with the generic tunes on both of my trucks when they were stock. Both times I had start issues with the generic tunes.

Get the TS. So versatile-retuneable when you get injectors, etc.
What is done to the truck?
I have a stock truck (I do have hi flo air filter and full turbo back exhaust) and put a TS Chip on it. All I can say is WOW! It is a different truck. I drive around town in the "70" and "100" mode, so much more responsive. As has been said, it isn't all that much of an upgrade by HP numbers(Max you'll see is prob 220 ish to the wheels w/ stock injectors) but with an older 7.3 it will make a noticeable difference. My 4x4 CCLB Auto trans, I've gotten 18.1 mpg on the freeway at 70mph, 3.55's and 285 tires in the "70" tune.
----Don't expect to beat anybody racing, unless you are towing----
I'd consider my truck peppy and spry (esp for the size of truck) but I get dumped on by any newer diesel, regardless of flavor when lined up. Even last sunday headed to church some kid in a mid 90's chevy was rippin' around so I gave him a go at the next light and I couldn't keep up. If we had 10k pound trailers on (or 22k# (most i've towed with mine... it was slow)) I could have wupped him.

Go for the TS, Lots of people can tune them. FWIW I rode in a literal twin of my truck last week, even the same color. The truck had an edge evolution, such a PITA. Took 5 minutes to change modes between econ vs race etc. Pain. I love being able to switch up or down while driving.

-Last thing, it is smokey with stock-ish truck and canned tunes. Even the 70 "hp" tune it will smoke like mad. In 100 and 140 I can literally black out the lanes behind me. Even freeway it will be trailing out black smoke in the 100 and 140 tunes. It is smokey. Getting bigger injectors and a custom tuned ts chip can be much less smokey but mo $. If you need to stay stock for awhile on the truck, do yourself a favor and get the chipped. People will say to get a custom tuned chip, but you're still so so limited with stock injectors don't worry about it till you get injectors. Best $300 i've spent for performance

Canned tunes must vary Lot from truck to truck. Mine ran a lot better and didnt smoke at all but shifting was far from ideal. Now I have a kt trucks flash on my chip (Supposedly is php tunes) smokes some and pulls much better. With lower egts too

I had a superchips tuner for years until about 4 months ago. Then I got a TS with tony wildman tunes and I wish I had gotten custom tunes years ago.

The only complaint is having to pull it out and ship it back to have the tunes adjusted. The last time I sent it back it took 4 weeks to get it back.

As soon as I can afford it I'll be getting a Hydra. So I can get tunes emailed. But it's gonna have to wait because my transmission took a dump yesterday! Gotta love more power!!! Lol:evil

You could also get a ts chip burner. Just another option. Your tuner can email
You files and you just plug your chip in a put them
On.

I've had pretty good luck with DP tuner. The F5 chip is pretty much the same thing except you push a little button to change tunes instead of a dial. Also you can get as many as 16 different tunes on it and if you ever upgrade (injectors, turbo ect.) you can just send it back to them and they can retune for the new mods. Bonus, if you buy the mods from them they will retune for free. By the way I have a question for darknight. Are you sure your injectors are stock? or maybe your truck is a cali model? I have never seen a stock obs with only a chip smoke very much at all. Usually they just puff a little bit right at first. Makes me think your injectors either are not stock or it could be a cali model with the larger 120 cc injectors. Just wondering.

I wish I knew. Can you tell when you pull valve covers? I'm going to pull them tomorrow. I've got to figure out if I have crapped out injectors or if it is just the o rings. It doesn't act like stage 2 injectors. .. Gets best by Chevy half ton pos tucks. Haha. But man it will roll the thickest blackest coal. Not great for driving around town.

I would buy one from beans diesel, there chips are dyno proven. Which means they actually test there tunes on the same truck as yours on a dyno. So it's very accurate. I'm running one from beans and I absolutely love it. There good people too. Reburns are free. The chip runs anywhere from 400-550$ dependin on your mods on your truck. Stock being the cheapest. Totally worth it.
