Tighten the head bolts in the following sequence.
Tighten bolts 1 through 10 to 88 Nm (65 lb-ft).
Tighten bolts 1 through 10 to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
Tighten bolts in sequence 1 through 10, clockwise 90 degrees.
Tighten bolts in sequence 1 through 10, a second time, clockwise 90 degrees.
Tighten bolts in sequence 1 through 10, a third time, clockwise 90 degrees.
Tighten bolts 11 through 15 to 24 Nm (18 lb-ft).
Tighten bolts 11 through 15 to 31 Nm (23 lb-ft).

Tighten the head bolts in the following sequence.

Tighten bolts 1 through 10 to 100 lb-ft.
Tighten bolts 1 through 10 to 150 lb-ft.
Tighten bolts 1 through 10 to 200 lb-ft.
Tighten bolts 1 through 10 to 245 lb-ft.
Tighten bolts 11 through 15 to 24 Nm (18 lb-ft).
Tighten bolts 11 through 15 to 31 Nm (23 lb-ft).

Run a tap down into the block to clean out the thread holes. A little brake cleaner and then blow them out. The studs just need to be snugged down into the block.

 

Do you run the rocker arms and push rods go down with the stud/nut as your tightening? or are they put in after torqued to specs?

 

When installing studs can you reuse the stock short bolts in holes 11-15 or should they be replaced with new bolts?

 

i think the studs are torqued to 275ftlb now i think. i dont think it its 245 any more.

 

It's still 245.
