Swapping a superduty cab

I have an E99 F250 and my cab is a little beat up and has some rust and dents and has some rot along the rockers. I found an 06 cab that is rust and rot free, but is picked clean of everything. My question is how hard would it be to swap that cab onto my chassis and swap the harnesses and modules and all over, I have 06 doors, fenders, hood and everything else on my truck now and it's all mint, just want a more solid platform to build off and go forward, anyone ever done anything like this before, or know how much of a whore it will be to finish, really on the fence about this and any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys !

you better have some patience & no temper to tackle that challenge.

Ive done this swap several times. Actually, just finished putting a 7.3 in a 06 truck. If you leave your dash its pretty much a complete bolt in job. Its just very time consuming.

It is easiest to splice in a small piece of firewall out of your truck where the wires go through and the pcm are. That is really the only fab work. If you want to leave the 06 dash you might have to make up a few harness's. Headlight switch and raido harness are different. The 7.3 harness all bolts right into the 06 dash.

The heater box is also slightly differnet, but can be used. You just have to completely strip the 06 cab. Under the hood and in cab. Then start bringing all the 7.3 stuff over and bolt it in. Hope it helps.

I do have pics somewhere. I will have to try and dig them up.

Shane the 03 cab does make it some easier, but the firewall piece still needs to be changed. Everything else is a straight forward bolt in job. It is very time consuming because you need to switch and strip EVERYTHING to make the job go more smooth.

A week pretty doable. A weekend? Yea if you start as early as possible on friday evening and dont sleep. It is also doable, bud does suck.

If one of you guys wants pics you will prob need to PM your email. Maybe then you could post them up as I am retarded when trying to add pictures to this site.

Co04cobra, thanks for the input, I think I'm gonna wait till I buy another car first so I don't have to rush through this and get aggravated, just want to do this once and I figure if the cab is off it will be a great time to to the turbo and up pipes
