Sooo... I have a stuck slide pin... There's GOT to be a way to get it out. I really don't want to have to buy a new bracket and pin... I usually make it a point to grease them, guess I didn't do a good job...

Other than heat and penetrating oil, any tips?

That's about it. You are replacing the slide pin, right. If so, grab onto it with some vice grips. Spray some penetrating oil on it and keep working it around.

Yes it did come out with some heat, ended up melting the housing alittle but it came out. We deal with stuck slide pins up here alot with a vice, torch & vice grips. This is another one that we got out without damaging anything. Pin & housing were both re-useable.

Submerse it in penetrating lube for X amount of time. Hammer it IN. I know that sounds backwards but if you can break it free, it will come out.

Otherwise just suck it up and buy a new one.

PB blaster for a couple of days and get after it. I'm glad I live in the desert. But I have restored several muscle cars that were from the midwest and PB works better than anything I have used. Good luck.

Have you tried Kroil from these guys?

KanoLabs.com

It works increadably well, only place Ive seen it is the welding supply shop in town, om guessing its because its marked "for industrial use only"

Its smells really good too!

The bracket that holds my Downpipe to the turbo was stuck on, probably hadn't been touched for 300k, i pounded on it hard and it wouldn't budge, gave it a few squirts about 30 sec apart, came back 15 minutes later and it just fell right off, ive seen it work miracles before, but thats the best ive ever seen it do
