I used my old sending unit with some mods. Dzljim has some info on his website about this mod. I got the steel one and it's already cracked twice (once around the strap and the other by the fillerneck). A more expensive replacement is the unit from transfer flow. The cost is 800 bucks though.

I've got the metal Bronco tank. With a little neck modding to make it longer, and modifying my stock sending unit to read for 2x the depth, it works great!

I've got some pics in my webshots. Oh and Diesel Fever never got around to it, lazy bum. ;) :D Just playin' MP. LOL

I put it in, just never hooked it up  Then I decided I didn't need it, took it out sold it, bought another truck that the rear tank started leaking and wish I still had it kinda.

I never use the rear tank on any of my trucks anyway though. One doesn't have one, the other leaks, and the one is an emergency reserve.

i put a 33 gal steel bronco tank in my obs and modded the fuel system a bit. I added a 3/8" pick up tube into the bronco tank (pulls right off bottom, once put 32.6 gal in and truck still hadnt died) as well as lengthened the return line so that all fuel would be pulled and returned from the back tank. Then i added a second stock elec pump to use as a transfer flow for the front tank. The reason i used stock instead of a low pressure lift pump is because i like the thought of having spare pump on board incase one quits on the hwy. 5 min they can be swapped out an im on the road again. I love having 50 gal of fuel on board w/o having a tank in the back of the truck! The only thing i havent fixed right is the sending unit, it needs some work yet but im too busy to worry about it. The trip odo works well for a gauge instead lol.

Yeah, my sending unit works but it stays on F for a long time and when it gets to 1/2, I'm good for about 90-100 miles before it will start to run out.

I had mine set up where it would read fuel until the tank was half full, then the gauge would start to go down.

I just got a spare one and modified it to work for me and actually left the front tank alone
