rear bouncing at 45-50mph

My truck has a bad bounce between 45-50mph in the rear. It gets very annoying. It has done it since i bought it. It doesn't matter what wheel and tire combo is on it. It never goes away. I was hoping when i put my 8" lift on it would go away. But it's still there. I let my dad drive it and i followed him and you can see the rear suspension bouncing. I remember reading one time somewhere that the 99-04 short bed CC, and ext cab long beds were bad about this. Does anyone else have this problem or now how to fix it?

shim the carrier bearing down some. Really helped mine ALOT.

Any updates? Did shimming the carrier bearing down help? I'm having the SAME EXACT issue and it's annoying as hell.

Most likely the carrier bearing needs to be shimmed. I think Ford put out a TSB on this. Mine does it too, I just haven't cared enough to fix it yet

Ive done different things with the driveshaft and none of it makes a difference on my truck, but I wasnt trying to solve that problem at the time.

I dought it has anything to do with the driveshaft anyways.

I did see something that was suposed to solve the problem. It was from ford. It was a thing that hung off of the frame behind the left rear tire. I believe it looked like a big ass egg, but black.

I have the same problem with my rig. I have yet to figure it out. Shocks shims and everything else. I would love to see what really fixes it not covers it.

My '01 CC LB had the dreaded concrete highway bounce that was tamed if I had 500 lbs in the bed, and got better as the springs "softened" over the years.

My '11 is horrible on the concrete highways, even with 2000 lbs in the bed. Finally realized what I believe the issue to be - my truck came in with the snow plow prep package, so probably has some pretty significant front springs, and now that I've realized that is most likely the issue, I plan to do a spring swap to lighter springs. Just need to try to track down 2011 front coil spring rates. I can't travel 65-75 mph speed limit highways at 55, and 80 mph will get me in trouble. In between those speeds, I get jarred to all heck.

All I know is I want to try one out , mine has wobbled from 45 - 50 all its life .Lifted or not . Loaded or not .I have tried everything to calm it down except this damper thing .

If someone else tries it and it works out well for them il buy one, but its hard for me to drop the coin on something that may not work.

Fwiw the only time my truck stopped doing it was after I put two weather guard cross bed boxes in my truck with a good bit of weight. The only problem was there was so much weight they pulled my bed sides down and in. To solve the problem I put boards between the bed floor and bottom of the boxes, as soon as I did this the truck started hopping again. Maybe the boxes flexed the bed sides and counteracted the hopping the same way the rubber dampner is supposed to counter act the hopping.

Il probably screw this up too, but here is what it shows up under. About half way down the page.

This is where it shows up but its hard to tell by the little pictures on google images.

I have one like that on mine but the #on it is 8L345D008AD ,I have the hop bounce at freeway speeds and thought it might be the culprit,si I took it off and the 40-45mph bouncing reared it's head and didn't cure the higher speed bounce either. I raised the rear of the ground from the axle on the lift and spun the wheels up to 75 mph and get no bounce or vibes, new tires and balance also. It's not horrible but for sure feels like 5 oz's out of balance on a tire. I also have have centramatic's on the truck. Guess I'll have to live with it.

What cab and bed length, year, 4x4?

Have you changed anything recently that could cause the problem?

If yours is the same wheel base as mine it definitly gives me more motivation to try the rubber dampner.
