so i keep getting the p1212 icp not at expected code. the truck started losing power. pressed the throttle and nothing. i down shifted and it got the rpms up but still couldnt accel. coming up to the stop sign i was in a low enough gear and rpm and i clutched to stop and it died. it happened a few times before but not to the point it would stall. it was like it lagged when i pressed the throttle but then it worked. however it finally died.

the engine oil level is good, the res has oil in it, same with the heads. i just put a fuel bowl in it since the fpr cracked so it has new wires to the ipr. the hpop was changed prob a year or so ago. the hpop lines to the heads are ok as well. the ipc sensor is dry and so is the connector so it doesnt look like its faulty. didnt ohm it out though but i had a spare off a superduty that i swapped to see if anything changed as well as a ipr which didnt change anything either. superduty pumps are bigger but my stg 2 swamps injectors dont require bigger oil. i traced the icp wires as far back as i could to where it tees into the main harness and there isnt any fraying or anything. didnt feel like ripping into the main section that goes to the block connector then to the fuse box. all fuses and relays in cab and under hood are good. i plugged my snapon brick in and the only code i get is p1212 if i do a koeo test the ebpv comes up to but thats unplugged and the flap is deleted. the turbo ped will leak like a mother####er if its connected. in live data while cranking the injctrlpres stays at 0 then spikes to like 2600 and pops the cel light on. the ipr pulse for the superduty ipr is 88 and i think the other one was around there too. it also has a new cps in it not from ford though but thats not causing anyhing. im stumped what else is there?? help would be awesome.

how do you check for a clogged pickup filter and bad injector solenoids
truck did pass a buzz test

update: when i push the tire valve it spits fuel on the side of the bowl and when cranking i get a decent amount of smoke it sounds like it wants to fire but it just doesn't. don't have a good pressure guage to test with but the tire reading tool i used went in between 40 and 50 but i don't really trust it. swapped to another spare idm i have to make sure the one i got wasn't faulty. pulled the valve covers to inspect the drain plugs n orings in the head as well as injector wires and they are good. cranked it and verified the injectors are seeing oil and they are since it came out the deflectors. next for ####s and giggles im gonna check the fpr screen. the injector control pressure still does the same thing pulse percentage is still the same to and the volts were 2.xx dont remember exactly as i quickly glanced at it. the mechanic i took it to barely looked at it and had me buy new batts fuel filter and the idm. obviously since the idm didnt fix it he had me throwing money at it so i told that cocksucker to eff off and towed the truck home. and it sat for two months before he said get a new idm. i cant verify if he actually had a ford tech come test the idm but i just want to get it running again.

update: checked the fpr and it was clogged something nasty, charged the batts and cranked and it sounded like it wanted to start. plugged the scanner in and got injector control pressures finally. did two decent cranks to build it up so it read in the normal range in the dash then used the scanner. instead of it staying at zero it steadly climbed starting at 34 then 286 then 349 then 489 didnt go over 500 but it still spiked up to 2k if i let it crank long enough. pulled codes and got 1212 still this time with a cam sensor intermittent aswell. swaped a known good motorcraft sensor in and still the same happened but this time with out the cam sensor code. tomorrow ill check fuel pressure correctly to get an accurate reading. these injectors are definitely seeing oil so im convinced this is a fuel related problem. wonder what the tank n pick up tube looks like. cant wait to see the pressure and how much im gonna dig into the fuel system. but i dont understand how fuel would set the 1212 code. injector control pressure is oil right? should just go balls to the walls and do the d66 d60 kingpin plenums dp tuner and efuel i got sitting on the shelf.

update: yes i did, turns out the gauge i used to test fuel press was faulty i tested my brothers running truck and got the same reading which was why i thought i was alright. my buddy came to get his barring tool back for a cummins and he looked at it and said fuel should come out way faster then that so he stuck his pressure guage on and it didnt move. i was arguing saying theres no way and he showed me proof with tire gauge. on my brothers it jumped fast, mine it didnt move, his he almost blew the plastic thing out. i understand tire guage is not an exact reading but it at least shows pressure build up on crank. he got lazy and was in a hurry to let me take his actual pressure guage out and play with it. and the pup builds pressure so it must be bad. im getting sick of taking the fuel bowl in and out so i pulled everything and am doing plenums finishing the I/C slapping my d66 on and changing tuners and oil..

Before you start modding the truck, you need to fix the problem.

Your problem is that the motor is not building high pressure oil (ICP). Not building ICP could be a few things. Also, what is the IPR percentage?

How many miles are on the injectors? Where they ever replaced? There was a bad batch of injector o-rings floating around.

These motors need HPO and fuel to run.

Extensive cranking trip the CPS code.

What county is Stockton, NJ in?

ipr percentage was 88, injectors are about a year old from alligator diesel which were drop shipped from swamps. it seems the pump is bad because there isnt any fuel pressure after i cleaned the fpr screen and that little black canister. hell i kinda wanna drop my tank now. god knows whats in there. Stockton nj is in hunterdon county right on the delaware. as for modding ive been putting it off but now that the fuel pump went im gonna do everything while im in there.

yes ghohousten both tanks work and the guage and tank slector do as well. the rear does leak i did notice that so i try to only use it if im driving far so it drains it. its next on the list with suspension.

the fuel gauge does read on both tanks front is full which i normally keep it on i use the rear once in a blue moon like maybe 6 times a year due to a leak. all fuses were good but i didnt check the fuel selector itself by switching tanks or anything. you got an easy way to check it. currently my valley is empty as im waiting on pedestal orings and those weird looking ones for the return lines from the head to the pump. and the banjo bolt ones. so my batts are disconected as well couldnt i just connect them and put the key to accessory and have someone press the switch while i got my ear next to it?
