There are rebuild kits available also if you want to go that route. I just bought a new pedestal. Check Ron's turbo service in Utah.

 

for another option...i cut mine off in a band saw then tig welded it closed worked perfect

 

what does it do when you do this?.....btw maintain has a video of how to do it..maybe in the libary.

 

Less chance of oil leaks and no chance of the EBPV malfunctioning and closing, causing loss of power...

Also, I felt like it added a little more "turbo sound"...

 

 

cool, thanks sleeper....i may do it then if i have to rebuild my turbo. depending on what i hear from my other thread.

 

i did it today no drilling needed 1/4npt plug in the acuator housing and a 1/2npt plug in the butterfly housing.

 

Did you have any problem getting the bolts out of the turbo housing too remove the valve?

 

Just drop the downpipe and use a 8mm 12 point socket with an extension, 3/8" drive should do it to remove the EBPV housing from the turbo housing.

After gutting the pedestal, do not reconnect the plug to the solenoid in the pedestal.
