Haven't been mushroom hunting in years. We used to hunt for different mushrooms though. On dairy farms.

we already found around 300 or so mostly morrels a few pecker heads

 

Found 120 or so the other day with a buddy. Here in Southern OH the morrels are smaller "dog peckers" or "blacks". In KS where I am from we always found big whites around the first of May. Here in OH they start finding them much earlier. My dad siad he started finding a few the end of last week in KS

Just as it was there, there are only a few "patches" here and there, and everyone keeps them a secret.

The guy that showed me this place made me wear a blind fold all the way there. LOL

They are one of the best things to eat anywhere. Anyone who has not tried one has missed out on half their life.

I found a dozen or so today. We got the rain but its not warm enough, supposed to be 80 degrees the next few days and they should be popping up good then.

 

i've been twice and found around 300 within the last two weeks

Found 110 today. All whites and some pretty big ones.

 

Found around 80 more yesterday,it was the first 80* day we had.

Now that its warm enough.........No freeking rain.

 

Its been light showers for the last two days here,so they oughta be a poppin.

 

Went out today. Had around 3 inches of rain this past weekend, now need some heat to pop them out. Didn't find a single one... The beer was good though

 

Beer is good, BUT, it makes it real hard to see them. I can find them by the bucket and by the second beer........nothing lol.

 

Drink enough and you'll get into the zone.ointlaugh:LOL
