I have a '95 JD 5200 with the 3029 (2.9 litre, 3cyl) PowerTech engine...Actual Deere engine, not Yanmar.
The 5000 series with the 2.9 is still made today, only now instead of 5200, 5300, 5400, (5500 was a 4cyl)...they are 5045E, 5055E, 5065E, and 5075E (last two numbers being HP rating, all 2.9L 3 cyl).
Although the 2.9 is now turbocharged in each of the 4 HP ranges (and intercooled too I believe), I can't find any other differences in them aside from the possibility of having different injection pump settings.
While I love my little 5200, I'm planning some wide/heavy floatation tires for it soon to help with the mud here...so I would really love to get 75hp rather than the 45HP it came with, so long as it wouldn't require much more than some turbo goodies and some tuning.
Anyone know???
Thanks,
Phillip
