Some year models have a valve in the hot coolant supply to the heater core. Does yours? It is vacuum actuated and located up by the firewall, near the MAP sensor.

Yes it does have that valve and it moves when the knob is turned to heater even though there is no heat coming out,

 

I have to ask ok my heater isnt working and im thinking its my heater core cause when I touch the two hoses by the firewall there is no heat just some what warm , soo Ive been reaserching and noticed people saying that when something in there heating system aint working their 4x4 aint also, why is that confused cause I think mine works

 

You should pull a vacuum on the cooling system, may have air in the system.

 

what would that do and wwhat part can I pull to see if it has air in the system?

 

I would assume the coolant, head gaskets, water pump etc first.

I know the process, smartasses....the execution, however, is another story. Quick release fittings never seem to be all that quick, lol.
