Personally, I don't think I would think twice about dropping some studs in one at a time, if you are fairly confident that your gaskets are good. Not that it makes much difference on a 6.0, but I would be more willing to try it if I knew it never had a tuner on it.

Whats the worst that could happen, its not like its gonna hurt anything. In fact, it could save you time and money in the future.

If you look at some other posts on here almost everyone who has done the studs without replacing gaskets had eventually problems and had to replace the gaskets.

I wouldn't know, cause I usually stay out of the 6.0 forums, lol.

I do know however, that some people would trust stock gaskets over taking the heads off and installing new gaskets and studs. By that logic, then yes, I would wait till it pukes before putting studs in it. But if you want to be one of the few who owns a 6.0 and never had to take the cab off, then what would it hurt to drop them in one at a time. Think of it as preventative maintenance.

:D

If you have toasted gaskets and not have any signs then your are replacing the HG's purely because you think they are bad even though they are probably good? Im confused.....

PainTrain what state are you in? I never put the license plate back on after installing my bull bar haha, never had a problem since or questioned why my plate is not on.

What I'm saying is that you could be driving around with leaking gaskets and never know it. It's just better off to go ahead and put the studs in and check everything out as soon as possible.

I'm in Maryland. I didn't want to put it back on but had a State Trooper tell me to do so lol.

04 with +100hp- blown egr coller gasket twice , blew gaskets and had replace, bout 8k later put studs in no problems since. and i feel a lot better stomping on it now, but the bolt closest to the finder on bottom closest to the cab is 99% impossible to swap with out head being pulled and some rigging. i left that one as a bolt, 30k later with a heavy foot and smokin up plenty of redlights no probs since.

For whatever it's worth....

On my 06, loaded up extreme street and drove like that for a while, puked for a long time, went through all the hoops, got cap replaced, then EGR cooler replaced, then finally headgaskets with studs put in by the dealer. They also replaced one head at this time. I puked on the way home from that, but then it stopped. I think it was just overfilled. About 1 month later it started puking again (mind you I got my tunes updated but stayed with the non-stud tunes) and puked for a long time again, then finally it failed majorly to the point I had white smoke pouring out of exhaust and could barely keep the truck idling. Brought it back in, they fixed it, took my studs out, sent me packing and told me not to bring it back. I was very grateful for them to fix it, but now I'm back to stock TTY bolts. I have since loaded a looney tune up from Vivian at Quick Trick, and run it just as hard and no puking.... This tune is not as powerful as my Innovative tunes though, and the transmission unlocks the converter a LOT, so it seems like there is never a real load on the motor, I'm sure these aid in keeping the gaskets together.

You nailed it right on the head! Many people know the hell I went through with my 2007 6.0L! After everything I tried and did to find out the problem and after using just about every custom tune that is known to man. I got so good at getting my truck to puke it was crazy. It would happen every time the truck would lug in gear and not unlock the TC. I got so good at it I could run a race tune and never puke and then put a street tune and could blow coolant over the cab...lmao I even ran the truck at a few tracks and never puked thanks to some tuning with good trans tuning. I ran the piss out of it and never puked one time on the track and then just to show a few that she could puke I soaked a friend of mines truck on the way home. Sorry Jeff but it was fun seeing him pull next to me at the light and him with his windshield wipers on.lmfao Long story short I really think the CP's have alot to do with the puking and the trans tuning has alot to do with the high CP's. The truck would always puke with the TC locked and nailing it!

i just had mine done after constant puking. it was just pita . put new oil cooler egr was deleted long time ago.
my heads were worped and had to be shaved a lot at the machine shop.
ARP studs are in . and coolant filter this weekend.
id say 90% of the heads that ford puts out as new and straight are shot. the machine shop said they never seen one that didnt need to be corrected...

and Fords head flatness spec is rediculos.... wake up FORD . get your $hit together ....

Wouldn't it have been internationals fault, since they built the motors? Im just asking not trying to start anything.
