I use mine and let the truck idle for a min or 2 then up to 1300rpm. It has not hurt me so far.

 

I have been doing it for as long as I can remember. Startup, let the oil pressure rise, and turn the chip to high idle. As far as I know nothing has been hurt.

If anything the the factory high idle will come on after a couple minutes anyways.

 

obs doesnt have a factory high idle.

 

my 6.0 has gone straight to 1100-1200 right after startup a handfull of times to keep itself from dying. Thats the factory high idle.
