Was thinking of using an auxillary Idle Control Module for faster warmups. While reading about them noticed that they only go as low as 1200 - 1300 rpms.

Is that too high to rev a cold engine for quicker warm ups?

I have been doing it for as long as I can remember. Startup, let the oil pressure rise, and turn the chip to high idle. As far as I know nothing has been hurt.

If anything the the factory high idle will come on after a couple minutes anyways.

my 6.0 has gone straight to 1100-1200 right after startup a handfull of times to keep itself from dying. Thats the factory high idle.
