AE would do you well if you have a laptop or know someone that does. All of the hand held tuners read codes, but that would be a waste since you have a chip. But dont forget about the scan gauge from Terminator Engineering. That might be the most practical solution for you.

 

Make sure your 95 is OBDII compliant. If it's a early 95 or late 94, it might be OBDI. Then you will need a reflash to your pcm.

 

I have scanned codes before with a snap on style, then I tried to use my buddies obd II tool and it wouldn't work, it has the obd II port on it though. Would ford be the only place for a reflash

 

Is there a way to determine what obd the truck is.

 

I would go to Ford and have them check it.

 

They'll want $80 to reflash it

I had mine flashed to the latest and greatest stock tune by Jody. It's only $50 but you have to ship your PCM to him. I sent it out to him the day before we left on a 10 day trip and it was waiting for me when I got home.

AE, or at least the AE Joe (csipsd) has HATES OBS trucks, may wanna look into somethin else. His TE scan guage worked tho.

 

Oh I didn't take mine to the dealer either, but a guy I know is a tech at a locak dealer and did mine for $30 each

I called my dealer they don't have a clue what I am talking about with a reflash. Might have to send it away to get done.
