EGR Delete without tuning

From what I understand.. I have an 06 psd and doing a delete on it without a sct to turn it off will throw a code. Will the truck still be driveable with the delete in place if it throws a code until I get a tuner to turn it off? Or do I need to have a tuner ready when it comes off to keep the truck driveable? Thanks

Ok, just making sure it wasn't going to put my truck in a limp mode or anything. So it won't hurt anything then..? Until I get a tuner to turn it of..?

I agree I am still driving with out a tunner. Im not happy about it but I just dont have the money for a tunner right now, but that being said my truck runs fine. I left the valve plugged in though. because I was told by some guys on here that if I unplugged it it messing with the fan some how.

So you just left the electrical plug in..? Did you trip the CEL?

I would leave it plugged in either way until you decide to get a tuner

If you do a search you will find a ton of info about the effect of an unplugged EGR valve on the PCM control of the fan clutch.

Only if it's not plugged in. I don't have my EGR valve installed but it's still electrically hooked up. I wish I could just toss it in the garbage along with the throttle body but a lot more guys that know what they are talking about say it needs to stay connected. A few say it doesn't matter but I'd rather make sure and leave it hooked up. You would think by now some programer guy could say either way by now.

No, if you remove the right rear bolt on the intake elbow there is just enough wire going to the EGR valve to let you use one of the tabs to bolt it down.

Do you have a MAF sensor? If you don't get a CEL, I'm betting you don't. Or you have a 49 state PCM calibration.

Yah some guys are lucky that way with the CEL, I think it may have something to do with what flash version you have. For me my '05 Ex does not have the same engine ('04) as the pickups so the tuner I use to get rid of the CEL does not deal with the throttle body position code because it does not know that there are two very different motors for that year. Your lucky with studs too, I know one guy that put only a 50 HP tune on his truck and had his head gaskets fail soon after and then another guy I know has some kind of extreme race tune with OEM head bolts and he has never had any problems.
