I prob don't have your answer, but when I bought my truck it came with a DPF delete only and the DOC (same thing as CAT) was still in place. I would think it would be ok unless u start running some high HP tunes, then I bet the DOC would get clogged.
I just picked up a DOC/DPF delete to replace it.

 

Could you send it back and get the DPF/DOC delete? A buddy of mine installed the dpf delete only on his, totally sounds different and im sure his egts are higher due to blockage still

 

send the pipe back and order both pipes together. the 1 you have still has restriction in. you are trying to get rid of the restriction. I personally would send the sct to innovative diesel and let them fix that from the start. they are the best sct programming dudes on the planet. and welcome to the nation. read some then you will understand what i am saying about the sct.

 

A buddy of mine had the DPF only delete on his truck for awhile running the 175 Spartan tune, and when it was removed and a 5" system put it, the DOC looked to be on it's last leg. It was pretty full of soot.

 

I really dont plan on running the extreme tune on the SCT. I think there are 4 levels on it and i will prob stick to the second highest. I really thank you guys for the help

 

that wont last long, fist time you turn it up all the way, you wont want to turn it back down.

Send that beach to Innovative Diesel and get some tunes put on it.. Itll put some hair on ya chest

So just to be clear....you can run the truck with just the dpf but over a long period of time u wanna ditch the CAT bc it may plug up....

 

Is there anyway you can delete the doc and still keep the DPF delete pipe? Or is the only option to get the whole pipe. Mainly wondering just to keep the price down when getting rid of the doc.

 

Unless you can get your local exhaust shop to rig you up one, no one creates one that i know of because no one is going to delete the cat without deleting the dpf which is what the pipe would have to be created around and the only sales would be when something like this happened someone ordered a dpf delete only and needs the cat delete now when all can be bought in one so no

 

If you plan on doing a full exhaust such as 4" or 5" flo pro in the near future, than you'll be alright

 

my first hand experience, I bought the delete pipes, the went back and got the down pipe, and dpf to the end of the truck. if i had to do it again,or passing on some advice, i'd buy the whole exhaust all together at one time it is way cheaper to do it that way. just my .02

 

im running just the dpf delete pipe right now. i also have the sct livewire with a 150 tow tune from kem performance. only two mods on my p/u and i love it. kem performance will email you a tune for 75$ and it is worth every penny. dont run the sct tunes. at least i wasnt gonna

 

so you can get other tunes from other people/companys? I may have to look into that tow tune. thanks for all the imput guys

 

Sct- SCT Canned tunes, IDP Tunes, Or KEM tunes and i think a couple others, but these two are the best
