I got some ?Genuine Mototcraft? glowplugs on ebay for cheap. They arrived today and the package says GP39704, not ZD11. Has anyone bought and used these. Are they false advertising and are they ok to put in my truck?

I would only use glow plugs out of a Motorcravt/Beau bag with ZD-11 on them.

A link to the listing on Fleabay would be nice to see what they actually claim.

I would send them back to the seller and report them to Ebay if they are actually claiming them to be Motorcraft ZD-11's and there are not.

False advertising. I bet if you have a link to the ad, it would list zd11, but also show another part number.

That's interesting. When you pull up that part number GP39704 it shows dual core glow plugs. Along with a different seller.

The first thing that I would do is to contact the seller and see what he says about it. Don't listen to any bull that they are the same thing, they aren't. And when they are selling for $20 vrs $70+ for other sellers makes me wonder.

While it is a little bit more expensive AutoZone is selling the Motorcraft ZD-11 again for $11 each

Or if they are not close to you Diesel O Rings have them for another dollar each.

In the listing where it says

BRAND: UNBRANDED

That's your clue, these are not Ford impossible to sell 8 ford ZD11 for $20 shipped when they are usually 10-12 each
Sounds too good to be true.....it probably is

O would report that add to Ebay, total BS to call them "OEM Genuine Motorcraft" in the listing description

^^^exactly^^^

Item Specifics
Brand Unbranded
Manufacturer Part Number ZD-11
UPC Does Not Apply
Interchange Part Number F4TZ-12A342-BA, ZD-11, F4TZ12A342BA
Other Part Number F4TZ12A342BA

unbranded and an interchange part number to a ford part number means they are cheap chinese crap.

i would contact the seller and tell him you want your money back or you will report him to evilbay for false advertising.
and then start the process with evilbay without waiting for an answer from him.

AND, in addition to the above, what sent my spidey-sense off the scale was the seller is located in
City of Industry, CA. I have never had anything but trouble with anything I bought from anyone located in that city.

also notice below you add other Ebay adds for the same thing even cheaper! I can get 8 Genuine Motorcraft ZD-11 for $15.81 shipped! WOWEE!!!! so your guy is not even the lowest of the lows

Orielly did me a good deal on the zd11's.
Ask them about a discount too. All the parts stores and big box hardware stores can get anyone a courtesy discount.

you will be happier with that choice one of my suppliers offered me a great deal on a set of autolites 3 months later two were broken and 3 others didn't work anymore and my gaskets were trashed. so new gaskets and a set of motorcrafts and everything has been goo since. I also wired a relay into my signal wire from pcm. if i don't flip the switch the glow plugs don't come on.

My other name is Cheapskate McTightwad, but I've learned not to skimp in certain areas. Never try to rush shaving, buy quality shoes, and stick with genuine Motorcraft ZD-11 glow plugs. There may be other glow plugs that are just as good, but the consequences of a bad plug can be very, very expensive. It's just not worth the risk, IMHO.

Some Chinese Replacement Auto Part (C. R. A. P.) suppliers will copy everything about the genuine product so that it's very difficult to tell whether you have the genuine article or not. So in addition to verifying that the plugs are labeled correctly, I recommend getting them from a reputable American supplier -- either online or retail in an auto parts store. I personally would not buy these on eBay, because it's hard to verify authenticity.

I agree
the counterfeit market is insane , Timken,Motorcraft and the like has a huge problem with this

and the suggestion to avoid EBay and Amazon is spot on (unless it is a Authorized seller selling on there)

the counterfeiters don't care about safety , longevity they just need you to blink for a second and click the buy it now
due to the low price
