How do I plug or what do I plug it with, in the hole left behind after doing the CCV mod? Can I just run the tube down the back of the motor or will I get lots of fumes in the cab?

you can either take the tube to napa and theyll find you a cap for it or you can replace the whole tube with a piece of 4in stainless. if i was you i would get a piece of hose and run it under the cab so the cab doesnt smell all of the time. it takes 3/4in hose.

Just run a tube dow the side & zip tie it away from the manifold. Then zip tie it down on the frame under the cab. If I had the truck here I'd snap a few pics for you but I'll try to remember next time I have it around in the daylight. You can run it all the way back out to the reece hitch but some have gotten plugs in the middle of the line. best bet is to just run it so it drips freely & as quickly. Never have a problem with it leaving oil on the driveway either.
The smell doesn't botheer me & the only time you really notice it is when you have old oil that is due to be changed anyway.

I'm just running mine past my cab, so I don't have to worry about low spots in the hose blocking it.
Also like said already, just get some 4" pipe and replace the whole piece of intake tube

Do not run its under the cab. I took the short cut and did mine that way by the driver door and thats all i smell all the time is stinky oil fumes. I am gonna be rerouting it out the back.. Does anyone know why we don't put it in a bung in the exhaust? We do this with our 3512 Cats at work and it works fine.

Try installing it in the down pipe & see what happens..............

I still would rather deal with the smell then spend the hassle running it out the back. Heard of a few people that had theirs plug up on em. Most of the Cummins just exit straight down to the ground from the engine.

run it to the back of the truck. like oildigger said, u will smell it all the time if u dont. i hate it when i leave mine running to cool down and walk behind it and can smell it.

I run mine back behind the cab next to the fuel tank, my frame has a little residue on the bottom but thats all no spots, LOL. my truck never stands still long enought to make any spots. I used a peice of the 4" stainless from my exhaust kit for the intake, I,d keep all th left over stuff to just incase you put it back to stock. the smell is not to bad , just depends on which way the wind blows, LOL.

I love the smell of mine. It reminds me of my dads IH 986 tractors I drive on the farm. I used a 3/4" brass hose connector, 10' of black heater hose, and a 3/4" vaccum cap. I capped the nipple from the intake hose and turned the 90 degree hose down. I used the 3/4" connector to connect it to the heater hose using hose clamps. I ran the heater hose down to and along the frame and then ziptied it inside the frame rail. It ends at the transfer case crossmember. I have never had any residue at all. Last oil change I even stuck my finger in the hose and it was still clean. No jokes about sticking fingers in anything!!

Crank Case Ventilation Modification.
The stock CCV is piped into the inlet of the turbo. The engine then burns any oily fumes from the crank case. But, it can deposit oil in the IC. The oil deposits will decrease the heat transfer (in-coming air won't be cooled as much), and with enough oil, will lead to run-on if you're lucky, and a run-away engine if you're not.
The modification turns the hose around and redirects the outlet towards the rear of the truck. This is only necessary on SD trucks, and OBSs with an IC.

Gotcha;)

I figured it was only for SD trucks after it said oil going into the IC.

What, you mean I did it and gained nothing. It gotta be good for atleast 5 HP , right ?

Gotcha!!:poke::gun:

if you hooked into the exhaust wouldnt act like a scavenger system on a gas engine, i know when i ran a gasser we did that and all it did was make a mess under the car???? from what i understand the ccv mod just keeps oil from the ic but not any hp gains?? correct??

I ran a 3/4" hose just right outside the driver side tire... really dont smell it inless im at idle for a long time

so is it worth it??? and if so you just need to run a breather tube, and block off the intake tube? and if just dump it under the engine you will just get some smell after a while of sitting?

To me it was gettting rid of all that oil that ends up seeping out of the intercooler boots. That is the main reason I did it.

Yep.. just block off the replace the intake tube that has the hole with a 4" diameter piece of exhaust. Then turn the doghouse around so the port is on the backside of the motor and clamp away with some hose...

ohhh yeah... and it does smell nice...:pointlaugh:

I would like to tap it into my exhaust, but I'm affraid of having back pressure problems.
IMO, just behind the cab would be fine
