CCV Mod, smoke?

So I rerouted the CCV hose to end near my Transfer Case, and now when the truck is idling, there is a small amount of white/greyish smoke coming out of the end of the hose. If I am at a stoplight with the windows down I can smell it, and it's starting to bug me. Is this normal, and I terminated the hose too close to the cab? If so, I am going to run it back behind the rear axle. TIA

Yeah, it's normal. I have mine back near the rear end.

You can make the catch can for it. Might help keep some of the smoke down. Or route it into exhaust as some do.

I just used a Polypropylene Line Strainer from Tractor Supply.

What is the point of doing a CCV mod to a catch can, and then turn around a route it back to the intake...!? The point of the CCV mod is to not vent the crankcase into the intake. So you have mod'd the mod to where it is the same as what you had before, except you now have a catch can, to collect a small amount of oil...?
The catch can catches almost all of the oil vapor(you can see this by looking at the picture of it).

That was only after about 600 miles.

id just like to say that even when i start my truck with the first intake pipe removed up to where the ccv joins the intake at it still has smoke/vapor coming out even during warm weather. i do however like that catch can. where'd it come from.
The catch can is from Tractor Supply. The hose came from an auto parts store.

Just run the hose further down. Mine dumps at the rear axle, and I have never smelled it.

I would assume that there is a significant temp drop thus condensing a fair amount of oil vapor out. Any remaining vapor is probably significantly lower than what is returned to the intake on the factory setup. It would be interesting to measure the amount that you collect over time with the catch can so far from the engine. If i do the mod I will probably do it this way.

My next after work project will be this. Seems easy enough.
