Perusing the website, there are two E4OD packages, a Heavy Duty and a Super Duty. The built transmissions do not give a power rating but the Monster in a Box kit descriptions say they use the same parts in the kit as the transmissions they build, 500hp/450 torque. Cost is $1800 without a torque convertor

Ford 7.3 diesel stock makes 450 torque, so it sounds like the transmissions are just like the average transmission shop's HD rebuilds, nothing special. A real 500hp 7.3 would be making around 900-1000 ft-lbs torque, twice the rating of this transmission. The warranty period of the transmission is very short.

The stall speed of the torque convertors they sell is 2300 rpm, sounds high to me.

In other words, it ain't a BTS.

I looked at there website already, I was looking to see if anyone used one and how well it held up. The trans he's going me is the superduty built e40d. He liked it but his truck was close to stock. I couldn't find any reviews pertaining to the e40ds they build. Lots of bad reviews out here tho. I'll just keep as a just in case or sell it and take the $$ to finally get a bts.

A few years ago, there was a poster here (a Ford transmission guy,not Mark K.) who built Lightning F-150 transmissions and then tried his hand at selling "Monster in a Box" kits and complete transmissions for 7.3 diesels. As I recall, he later had them distributed and warranteed though Jasper Engines and Trans as a premium trans. Jasper doesn't list the trans anymore. May be the same guy OR not. Possibly the some of the reviews may be for this guy. Very simular names for the product.

Monster offers 2build options for the e40d. One is a heavy duty build and the other is a superduty build. The superduty build is supposed withstand 750ft lbs. ones for a close to stock truck and the other is for a built truck. That help brad?

Yeah I agree it's stupid. I'm Leary if this thing will do me any good. I found pages of nothing but bad reviews on there products. None were specific towards the e40d, mostly Chevy guys complainin..

It might be him, they offer a monster in a box rebuild kit. I ended up just selling it to a kid who needed a trans for his truck. BTS on the way soon now. Ordering it on Monday :evil
