7.3 vs 6.0 lug pattern

I been doing searches on here and finding mixed responses some say they share the same lug pattern and some dont. Some say its the same lug pattern with different offset and will hit the brakes.

I would like to know if 2005+ wheels will fit a 2000 F250 8x170 besides the brake caliper issue.

Thanks

yes they will fit you just need 2" spacers

To answer the OP question, the lug pattern is the same. They are both 8x170. The difference is the backspace, see below for more info.

On the 05 and newer truck, the axles were wider than the 99-04 axles.

no the 6.0's after 04 have coil over front suspension which means the rims dont need to be as offset to clear the leafs on turning like the older trucks. this is why you need the spacers to get the offset you are losing from the older rims. the rims from 99-04 are universal on 99-04's and the rims from 05-10 are universal from 99-10 but you can not use 99-04 rims on anything over an 04 due to the brake calibers.
Pretty much correct. Except the 05-10 axles are actually wider, which is why the backspace is different.

And you can put 99-04 rims on 05-10 trucks, as long as the wheel is at least a 17". They will just stick out more past the fenders.
