I'm interested in doing a turbo upgrade on my 2011 6.7 because as we all know the factory turbo is a real set back for someone wanting to go beyond just a tuner. But I have no idea where to start, my final goal is 650-700 hp (w/fuel upgrades). So my question for you guys is who makes the best kit for the 6.7 and vgt vs non vgt? Basically I have no idea where to begin.

Mpd has turbo kits. I'm gonna buy one from them when the time comes. An s366 should support 6 to 650 at the wheels.
Variable geometry turbos have vanes that well put simply will adjust and basically have a smaller aspect ratio at low speeds but grows for higher engine speed. Basically like having 2 turbos in one.
I probably wouldnt get a vgt. The driveabilty of a say s366 is fine. It doesn't start becoming an issue till you get into massive turbos then you'll start to feel some lag.

Yeah I understand that completely. I've been looking for a whole and still haven't made up my mind
Improvements as far as what? I think the turbos have been updated along with the injection pump.
I just got done installing a MPD budget kit with S366 and a 15 HPFP and gearhead tunes the truck is not even the same truck tuned and deleted I was seeing boost peak at 26 on a good day and with the new turbo and tuning I'm seeing 40psi. It does have a bit of lag off the line but lights off pretty quick.
