Hey guys we've had a couple issues with turbo surging at our altitude especially once tuned. Some trucks seem to have it and some don't. I just had a truck with a really bad surging issue that we played with. Well after some talking with Charles at KEM we found a fix by adjusting the wastegate!
You can take both dipstick bolts out and get in there without removing anything. Once those bolts are removed you need to break loose the jam nut on the adjustment rod on the gate. Then I used a 10mm flex head gearwrench and took the 2 nuts off the back of the vaccum diaphragm that the Gate hooks too. Once the nuts are removed I turned the rod counter clockwise to extend the rod 1 full turn. After reassembled I took it for a test drive. The issue was almost non exsistent. Between Charles and I we have done this too probably 4 trucks that have had the surging problem. It has fixed all of them. After doing this I monitor the boost pressure and back pressure with no problems.
Thought you guys may like to know this that had the problem. Like I said I've just seen this on some of the trucks, not all. But it is an easy fix that works.
