Hello everybody,

I have a 2006 f350 6.0 with 190k on it, that ive had for about 2 years and have never had any trouble with it, just normal routine maintenance, never had a tuner on it, or driven hard. just recently about 2 months ago I replaced the degas bottle because it was cracked on the bottom where the large coolant hose hooks up to it. (truck never puked from the cap). And then today I noticed that the bottle was cracked again in the same spot and it isnt puking from the cap.

any suggestions as to what it could be would greatly help, thanks

Yes. Your cap is shot. There only good for so long. If there not releasing pressure then it'll crack the degas bottle. The pressure has to escape somewhere. More than likely your cap is shot 5 dollar part. And your building pressure because your hg is gone

Do you have gauges for the truck?
I would monitor the coolant temps and see if it's running hot. If not and you are not building pressure from a head gasket issue you may have just been unlucky on the replacement tank.

Yea that's when you will blow the head gaskets too.
Get a scangaugeII be cautious with tunes. The 6.0 Powerstroke Stroke is tuned to 85% at least from Internationals engine designers data.
Not a lot of room for power gains without studs oil cooler upgrade etc.
