I bought this truck the other week the issue it was having is when the vgt is unplugged it’s drives fine just no boost and when I have it plugged in the truck just bogs, smokes white and wants to die. the guy said it had a turbo issue. Vanes were sticking so I cleaned the vanes and got a new unsion ring because it was cracked still the same issue. Also the fuel pump was going out had to tap it with a hammer to get it working so I replaced that too and I’m still having the same issue.

If you disconnected the boost tube and it's doing it you might have a plugged exhaust, broken turbine or vanes, or it's something with the engine.

I might pull the turbo and put a bottle on the turbo feed and run it for a second to eliminate the turbo or swapping might be better.

Do you have the ability to get forscan? If so, reflash the pcm with the as built files. Also, if you don't have access to forscan, try swapping out the pcm with a known good one.

You have a snap on scanner. How many pids can you veiw? What are you seeing for EBP, VGT duty cycle, MAP, AIT. Time.to start looking at other sensors to see what's going on.

You can control the vgt solenoid with you scanner. So I would assume that means the vgt solenoid is good,as well as the wiring. It's got to be another sensor causing the problem.

You could even perform a vgt solenoid relearn procedure. Just thinking out loud at this point.

I’m going to check tomorrow to see what the sensors say how would I go about doing the vgt relearn

Speed Test
It sounds like your VGT actuator is bad.
