2002 7.3 xclb front end, shudder? Not death wobble...?

So this week, I've been in my ol lady's truck for work. We've battled a front end issue for 276k miles now with this truck, it's ate driver side front tires and lower ball joints forever. Also, we've had to replace track bar bracket hardware twice, and will be a 3rd time now here in a week or so when I find someone who can get me the hardware, or a more definitive fix for the hardware loosening up every 60-100k miles.

Today, I couldn't handle the light wobble anymore and figured I'd hit up a shop local to where I'm at and get all of the tires balance checked and rebalanced if necessary. The two fronts needed rebalanced. Now, the light wobble that took place right around 35mph is almost a death wobble at 40-45 mph, but if you hit it hard enough you can drive right through it with little notice to the shudder, if that makes any sense. 50 mph + everything is smooth as glass.

The truck has had a lift under it forever, but the issue of going through left lower ball joints and cupping the hell out of the left front tire has been present whether it's had big or little tires, mt's or at's under it. Even before the lift, made no difference, ever.

I'm fairly certain that the main source of my wobble is in my track bar bracket, but what is the underlying cause of the hardware issue? I don't remember what they were torqued to last time, effing tight is all I recall. Also, what would be the cause of the continuous left side tire and ball joint issue? Tired of just living with the problem, and throwing a tire and ball joint at it as needed. I'll axle swap the pig with a coil sprung unit before I continue to throw tires, BJ's and track bar hardware at it anymore. Just put a brand new engine and transmission in this truck 32k miles ago, so it's not going anywhere no time soon.

Preciate you guys that read my books and come back with good info!

40-45 mph shake is usually tire balance.

On the track bar. Are the mounting holes wollarded out?

What brand ball joints are you using?

Currently the lower driver side is moog. The other 3 are the 2nd set of Spicer still.

All of the tires are balanced out now, the two rear tires didn't need any adjustment in balance, and have a smooth wear pattern. Moved them to the front, and that's when the problem exasperated. ** and they're 315/75/16's, Cooper discovery stt's

The holes weren't wollared last time, but that's not to say they aren't now. I have no clue how long this has been goin on this time, I never know what's wrong with this truck til my ol lady calls me and says something broke, lol. That's how a new engine happened lol.

On the bracket to frame and bracket to crossmember bolts? I don't think so, closer to 100 ft lb or so. I'd have to double check with Alldata but it's not beyond 150 ft lb iirc

I replaced both units when the passenger side went south right around 250k ish. Timken units, overhauled the brakes at the same time, calipers, hardware, lines, etc on all 4 corners. I have a tendency to do alot of "sensuous" work, on her truck especially lol.

I bought a zone adjustable track bar for the excursion, the instructions call for 450 ft lbs on the track bar through bolts that's why I asked
I have never torqued anything over 250!!

Ya, I never torqued any of it with a wrench... Just went tighter than fuzz when it all went back together the first time, and the two times the hardware was replaced. The track bar thru bolt I belted a wrench to the backside and went after it with my breaker bar, and the bracket bolts I went after with my long snap on half drive. Never had an issue out of the thru bolt, just the 3 bracket bolts. It's very tempting to just ditch the whole front end and start over from scratch with a coil sprung 60, I've got a line on a 07 with a blown up 5.4 in it for cheap. Just recently convinced the ol lady to let me do it the next time major front end work was needed... Well, it's time! Lol, and the time is prime also since we're both finally getting into smaller work trucks.

Coil spring it then. You may have to drill out the holes in the frame for the upper track bar bracket. I bet they are wallered out. Then to be safe use some nord lock washers or red loctite.
