Yes a TS chip would bypass the calibration that has been flashed on the PCM. If you don't already have the TS I would recommend looking at a PHP Hydra instead. The Hydra can be programmed over usb in your own driveway. You could contact Diesel Tech of Chattanooga (www.dieseltechchatt.com) about your PCM. I would think he has the ability to reflash it back to stock.

Yikes. Stop googling 7.3 tuner and buying the oldest crap sold on XDP or wherever. cjfisher's advice is solid. PHP Hydra chip is the only way to go these days.

 

Years ago i got a chip installed, and all went well . About 4 ,, 5 years ago picked up a P H P and all is well . Stopped by a diesel shop for pickups and they had it in stock, who would have thought it.. The high idol feature is great to showoff never use it ? A low battery or such and I'm good to go.. They set power settings to fit my setup and sent me down the road , all is well. There waiting, check out the local avalibilty, might be just around the corner.. I have 5 power settings at hand on my way to coffee if needed, how good can it get ?

 

1999 F-350 Dually, Yes it will had a DIABLO CHIP reflashed comp. and installed TS 6 much Better, I tow Travel Trailers for private parties and since I'm always getting different size units up to 40' it's really economical to be able to choose HP setting and run stock when I'm Deadheading.

 

Buy a hydra chip, not a TS6. There is a reason, not just fandom. The TS6 was great for its 10 year run, but that run started about 2003. It is ancient and so is the canned tuning on it. Just buy a hydra, get better tuning, it will override the Banks, you have many more options, and you have the hardware for whatever tuning situation you could have going forward.

 

Contact hydra and you just might have a source nearby for installment of your program and a runthrue of its benefits .. Picked up mine at local truck stop on i 5 near Auroa ,that is south of canby ,went quiet well ....
