Since you cant search for a one-letter word, im trying to find out if anyone ever used X code springs for the front of their OBS? Ive been rockin the old 3" Sky kit with '95 F350 leafs for ~8 years now, and my leafs are about shot. So i stumnbled across a pair of X code leafs in awesome shape in a junkyard yesterday and was thinking of putting them in, but im not sure how much they will sag (i need to keep the same lift) or how theyll ride. Its gotta be better than the OBS leafs. Any opinions?

I have them on the front of my truck, details in sig....I orgigonally had V-codes on there when I went RSK and ended up swapping them out with X-codes....didn't really notice too much of a difference in ride quality, but it did raise the truck an inch over the V-code springs.

For comparison, now that I have the stock bumper back on, my truck when measured from the center of the lockout to the bottom edge of the fender sits only 3/4 of an inch higher than a friends bone stock F350 SRW 4x4 PSD with stock springs and no RSK....fyi mine is a Low Lift RSK.

I've done they...X codes are rated 6k lbs vs 5200 for V codes and will get you aprox 2" more lift..they have their usage..heavy winch bumpers or someone trying to fit 37" with a rs kit and keeping a better ride quality.

Thanks for the info guys!

So the general consensus is that while not ideal, they will ride better than the OBS leafs. And theyll give ya more lift. Ive been reading the Modified Height thread and it sounds like the new 3" Sky kit + Vs puts the truck
s suspension at 26". IIRC im at 26.5" now (ill have to double check it tomorrow). So if the Xs give you that much more lift than the Vs, its possible i could go from an old Sky 3" to Xs & a 2.25" PMF kit, and end up pretty much in the same place as before. Thoughts/opinions?

get the new 4" Sky kit will ride better and use v codes, We work closely with Sky. We have everything needed.

Or just relocate your old kit and use SD springs.

Either way we can help..been doing these since '99

Good, glad to hear someone agrees with me. I got the pair of springs for $40, so i couldnt pass them up. Even if i dont end up using them, its not like im out much.

I like the PMF kit because off all the extra options it offers, plus its nice that i dont have to remove the rear hangar. Ive been thinking about cutting up my old Sky RSK to add a front receiver, this way i wouldnt have to.
