I noticed a few days ago that the black boot that is on the end of the red wastegate tube had ripped to a point that it wouldn't stay on the red tube anymore. I've tried capping it with rubber caps, electrical tape, etc, but it keeps blowing off whatever I put there. Although boost levels & EGT's seem to remain unchanged, wouldn't having air flow freely out of the tube constitute a boost leak?

Hey Greg, I picked up about 2-3# max boost by replaceing every clamp on the turbo system with T bolts... Nice ones from Fastenal... Nicer to change things too, there all the same size from the IC pipes to the intake manifolds...

Yes they are, but the springs tend to walk and then they wont hold... So in the trash they went!

Do you usually just tighten them enough so that the springs don't completely coil bind? I usually just cranked them down tight. Never really had any issues with them other than it seems like I'm always fiddling with something and having them on and off so many times I would sometimes pull the threads out of the nuts.
