My 2003 7.3 auto has strange road noise/hum. it starts at about 30 mph and changes pitch with speed. It tends to go away in a sharp right turn. I first thought it was the tie rod ends but i replaced them and no change. It also has a knock from the rear end if you give it sudden throttle at cruising speed. It is also starting to slam shifting into 4th which worries me a lot. Any help would be great

You have a bad front wheel bearing.

The other stuff is not related, but I would be looking for loose parts.

hums that quit in turns are usually axle bearings

and usually fronts

but a diff or carrier bearing can't be discounted..

get the truck up on jackstands and spin each wheel by hand (as fast as you can whip it around) and you'll be able to feel the vibration at the back side on the axle tube
