I've looked and looked. Why doesn't anyone offer a 6.0 style intercooler with upgraded pipes, boots, and clamps? I want to up grade my set up, but don't want to keep my stock pipes.

banks is the only one i have seen with pipes..
tho A spearco will out perform it with stock pipes as will di'S offering.
maybe call banks and see how much just the pipes can be had for

for the record the most drop a 6.0 cooler will do is 150° though most see 25-50 or nothing depending on conditions.
more or less if you can get A 6.0 ic for free or 100$ i would say it is worth the scratches on your arms you will get from the swap.

Cooler egts is never a bad thing.

No...

However your postings are confusing as all hell...

A stock 6.0 IC is no upgrade on a 7.3...

A larger then stock, like Spearco or DI, is just that, an aftermarket IC... There will be no differance between one made for a 6.0 or a 7.3...

I was under the impression it was.
Under that impression I would also think a after market ic for a 6.0 would be better than a aftermarket 7.3.
Isn't the point of an after part to upgrade on a factory part?

the way they are made may be the upgrade part... built better and stronger than stock but flow the same.

The stock 6.0 IC has plastic end tanks, it is only marginally larger then the 7.3...

Most see no differance (as I did) or very little.

Once you go to an aftermarket IC, there is only so much room in the truck to make one, they are all pretty much the same size.

The best and largest IC on the market for our trucks is the hypermax unit, close second would be the Spearco, then the DI DIIC and out from there.

Nope... the 6.0 IC is weaker then the stock 7.3...

However I have pushed mine for over 4 years at 40-50psi without issue (at least not that I know of...LOL).

Yes the plastic tanks are the weak spot on the 6.0 ic, and the metal insert fix from Ford is a joke.
Thank you for the info, I guess an upgrade 7.3 is the route I will look into when doing my turbo/injector upgrade.

yeah i know that... i meant how the upgrades that you buy are built better as in not plastic. as in when you buy a upgraded 6.oh cooler its all alloy with no plastic ends.

Because its a 7.3 IC... 85% of the 7.3 IC's had metal end tanks. There not welded to the core, but there better then the plastic ones for sure.

that is the biggest one... (biggest what as well.)

but what joe is saying is putting a spearco 6.0 ic in our truck is the same as a spearco 7.3 ...it is the design of the fins and style of build that makes the difference.

Looks like a boot kit, which will not help the OP in the least bit installing a 6.0 IC in a 7.3 truck.
