I'm thinking about a 42R and I've heard that you don't need to run water.

Who w a 42R is running water, and who's not?

Why aren't you connecting the water? Is it not needed in a diesel like it is in a gasser?

So you haven't seen any issues w/o water? I was thinking of using the line to the heater core to feed the turbo.

No water lines hooked up over here either.

I think if when I was driving down the road and I was boosting 30psi plus for extended periods of time I'd seriously look in to it.
