Holy beat up piston Batman.......................................

What would cause this kind of damage on only one cylinder. It was not any of my parts or mys turbo. This happened before I bought the motor.

My guess is injector or glow plug. My dad says it was a turbo that let go
but ,to me, if a turbo let go the damage would be in other holes too.

That is my $.02

someone left a bolt loose in the intake system while working on it, seen it before, just one of the possibilities

mine wasnt as bad as that but had similar markings on the piston, my injector, glow plug and turbo look ok, only thing I found on mine was the top compression ring on that cylinder was broke and I never found any pieces of it anywhere in the engine. You might check to see if it broke the rings

I agree.

My money is on the injector. The damage is a but much and rather odd markings for being just a glowplug...

Unless the whole damn plug somehow fell in.

I have one at home that looks exactly like that. Only one cylinder (#5) and no other marks on any other piston.

The one I have was damaged by a broken glow plug and it looks the same as yours.
