lots of people running beans modified stock turbo "Dominator 66" and having great results. If you dont plan on getting larger injectors it will work great for you. I really liked the h2e with stage 2's, it was a killer towing combo.

how much power does the d66 support? i put down 360 rwhp and 750rwtq with stock turbo and my mods i am leaning more towards the h2e it will prob be better for me if i decide to go bigger injectors right? sorry for all the questions i just dont wanna spend that kind of money to have to replace later on

what kind of egt drop with the d66 over my stock turbo and what kind of drop with the h2e
I lost about 100-150* with the d66, cleared up some of the fog...
some recent program changes helped even more...kinda have a slight disadvantage
since I am running 35's and 3.55 gears, the new programs help keep the turbo lit
with raised shift points(rpm's up)

yep...the dd burn hits od at around 62, the shifts are up high,
the economy burn is close to that, my tire/gear setup changes all the parameters on that program, and TW matched the program to my driving habits for in town as well as freeway/open road driving...

he also threw a new tow program on the old girl, but I havent needed to use it yet...labor day will tow the boat back down to the lake and see how that tune works...

Hey RTXCoon,
A question for you, how much boost pressure did you loose with the 6.0 Intercooler install and how much did the D66 unit help bring it back up compared to the stock turbo? I just drove home with my unit and the newly installed 6.0 cooler (thanks Jon)! Temp drop on Twildman hot burn I could easly top 1400 now I can't get it over 1200 staying hammered. Boost use to run 24 to 26 now runs 21, so lost 3 to 5 lbs of boost and picked up some lag. Did the D66 also help on any lag problems the Intercooler might have caused?
Thanks in advance for the answers!

I am always getting request for a reasonably priced direct replacement performance turbo available for the OBS Power Strokes as there is currently only one out there that is availbale.

Well I have been working with a custom turbo company to come up with our own option for a direct bolt on replacement turbo for the 94.5-97 OBS 7.3L Power Stroke trucks.

We just finally got most everything nailed down the other day and we are almost ready to roll on these turbos soon as I find a few people interested in running some test units.

These turbos are a direct bolt on replacement that is a modified stock turbo that will flow around 1100-1150 cfm which is an additional 30%+ air flow increase over the stock turbo.

We will have 2 options for these trubos.

First option will be for the reman version where we rebuild and modify either your turbo or one of our cores. This option will be priced well under $1000.00 and will require a $150.00 core charge until we recieve your core back.

Second option is going to be for a Brand NEW stock turbo that will be modified that will require no core at all and it will be priced a little over $1000.00

The reman version will come with a 6 month warranty and the New version will come with a 1 year warranty.

These turbos are intended to be used with injectors no bigger than Stage 2s as they are not intended for anything over 40psi of boost.

It is also looking as if we possibly might be able to offer the same options for the early 99 SD turbos and the 99.5-03 SD turbos also but the prices may vary slightly as I have not gotten anything set in stone for these yet. We will also need to find a couple people interested in test units for these turbos also.

I still have a few things to work out but if you have any questions or are interested in possibly getting a test unit then please PM, email or call me and I will be happy to discuss it further with you.

I am not sure what we will be calling this turbo option yet so if you have any suggestions then lets hear them.

Thanks,
Darrell

This was on another site the other day. This sounds a lot like the Dominator 66.

Grant you can move your map line to the turbo outlet so it see boost faster and has less lag but I hear it makes a little more smoke. because it get the fuel before the air. but helps with lag I'm going to do this just havent had a chance.

From the intercoolers I've installed I typically see about a 5 psi drop in boost. However there is only about a 2 psi pressure drop across the cooler. This is because the cooler condenses the air as it cools it. This in turn makes it have slightly less pressure but with the same mass of air. So you are getting the same amount of air in the engine as you would have normally.

To the original poster I would go with the H2E. Seems there's been a few D66 turbos that have failed when pushed real hard for extended periods thus the disclaimer of not intended for the bigger injectors. The H2E is a very tough turbo.
