I've heard that the propolyene glycol based coolant is the correct one to run in the '05 6.0, specifically the motorcraft premium gold. All I can find is the ethelyene glycol based motorcraft premium gold.

Which one do I need to use? I have heard that the ethelyne will break down and turn into a gel under heavy loads or extreme heat.

Motorcraft Gold (ethelyene glycol). If it says gold on the bottle, and its from the stealership. It should be the one. I think the old one for the 7.3L was called yellow..? Or something like that. As far as aftermarket brands that would be a good substitute you'd have to wait for someone else to chime in.

if your engine is still under warranty, make sure you only use the motorcraft gold. if you take it to the dealership, and there is any other kind in there they will give you a lot of grief.
