So tonight I drove about two hours to purchase a 97 obs F250 with the 7.3 and E40D truck has 220,000 and some change for $1,600 cash so safe to say I got a decent deal. ANYWAYS the guy told me the truck stalls going into drive, and reverse and you can tell the torque converter is locked up the only way to get it going is to feather the gas and to hop between drive and neutral as it had to be started in nuetral so my question is could it just be a trashed tc? could the tranny solenoid pack be causing this? Shift linkage? A terrible clogged filter? And I think the transmission itself was good because once the truck got going at cruising speeds it seemed fine but I dont know too much about these trucks or transmissions Ive always drove a Cummins so just looking for some input thanks!
