SO is the new "in" thing reving up your truck to a high RPM because.....?????

Wait why do you guys want to run the RPMs out that far? Without more modifications that what you guys have I KNOW you don't make any power there, and most likely your truck will sounds like a popcorn machine if you have a chip that extends PW too far.....

C'mon Jason, you know you want to, it's the cool thing to do.:poke:
Your right I do want to spin RPMs. In fact I want to spin 5500 under load with a sled attached at the back. I want to make powere there and lots of it. BUT that is why I built my motor to the same specs that I would build a smoker tractor motor set up to turn 6K. That is why several of us are working on injectors that can inject fuel fast enough at a decent enough injection pressure to make power up there. That is why there are people working on electronics that will allow us to use a longer PW than what the factory junk lets us. BUT what would you know you crazy Californian :swordfight:

Back on topic: You spin high enough to get your valvetrain to float, pistons hit valves and #### breaks - bad stuff don't screw with it. The popping you heard was more than likely your IDM getting confused and miss firing your engine - also not good, but not as bad as busting a valve off, or bending pushrods, breaking rockers, etc... well most of the time anyway.
