I found these plug ends and wondering what the hell they are for. They are located in the wheel well behind the mud flaps. Here is a pic of them

Front ABS on 4WABS trucks. They are left open on 2WABS trucks.

My truck is the same as your only has rear ABS I have always thouhgt that it woul have been better to put it in the front rather than the rear.

99s only had rear ABS if i am not mistaken.
they had some weird options in 99... no chrome bumper, 305 tires, etc.

My truck also has those same plugs in the same spot and I have a 2002 so it is just not the 99's .

Is it possible to make the front ABS since I have the plugs for them? Or would that be just be a dumb idea.

Same here, it was an option. Actually, I have three wheel ABS. The previous owner replaced one front rotor with a non ABS rotor.

ABS plugs DAMNIT. YOu have to change out the front hub assy's to run front abs but dont know about the controller.

Atleast I know what those are for now my ABS. I wish they were for running lights because the would be sweet to have.

if it had rear wheel abs, and those are behind the mud flap i would assume its in the rear wheel well... and those *should* be connected if it does have rear abs... or are those plugs in the front wheel well?

The ABS uses the VSS to read the rear axle wheel speed. Rear ABS counter acts oversteer thats why its better to have it only in the rear than only in the front. From the mechanical aspect alone you cannot just put on front ABS hubs and expect to have 4WABS, there is no means to throttle brake pressure up front. :ford:
