05 F250 100k, has studs, EGR delete, and new oil cooler. Was driving down
the road and the truck just shut off. Truck will not start and the only code
is water in fuel. Pulled tank and it replaced all fuel in the truck, still no start.
Any ideas why it would throw this code?

Did you drain the HFCM and replace the fuel filters?

A couple of things to check while you're looking at the main fuel filter: the WIF sensor is located in this housing. Make sure there isn't any algae or other sediment stuck to the end of the sensor. Also check the connections for the sensor plug and make sure they're intact.

The WIF light if it were actual water in the fuel should have iluminated long before it shut down due to fuel quality IMHO

did u clear the code ?

u can disconnect the batts if you have no other way

What code number did you get and what are you using to read codes?

How long ago was the oil cooler installed (time and miles)
