Hey guys. I just got my e99 f250 to where I could drive it today. First thing is, its shifts very firm, next thing is when boost starts coming on, the turbo whistles very loud almost into a scream sound.'m not really complaining about it, just making sure it wasn't a symptom of a problem. I've had trucks with cold air intakthates not make as much noise as this truck with a stock intake.

sounds like a bad boost leak... i would also check the turbo wheel to make sure there isnt any play in it...some times hitting the houseing will make it squeel

The thing is, it doesn't loose any power. It pulls like a freight train after it spools. It's for sure one of the best running stock 7.3s I'very ever driven

I would build a boost leak detector and check for leaks. Even a small leak can whistle pretty loud.

Early 99 turbos are know to be ridiculously loud. Different wheel design.

Tested for leaks and wasn't able to find anything. I'm just hoping its a loud e99 turbo. Ha ha
