I have a 96 f350 7.3 I have been having vacuum pump problems for about the past 8 months. I have replaced it 7 times 3 from AutoZone 2 from Napa and 2 from Ford. I have also replaced the pulley as well and a new belt. When I install the new pump it will operate fine no noise after 2-3 driving cycles it starts making a squealing noise. I have diagnosed it as far as if the vehicles running I can spray wd40 at the back side of the pulley and the noise will go away for a few seconds and then it comes back. Also if I put it on the wood leaving a light by the time it shifts to third you start to get a burning rubber type of smell not sure if this is related to the vacuum pump issue or something else. Yes the vacuum pump operates correctly just makes noise sounds like coming from bearing
