I'll be honest, I hate the search function so forgive me if this was already mentioned here or on another diesel site.

What do you guys and gals think about the V10 diesel that will be an option in the new VW Touareg? It will be rated at 310 HP and 553 TQ, mated to a six speed auto tranny. It is pricey though, starting at $59,000. I wonder what a little tuning will do for a motor like that and if the tranny will be able to take it. Would/ could a V10 make more power than our trucks motor, I'm assuming it could?

I will be be test driving one of these when they are available. The wife has been talking about getting a new vehicle soon anyway and actually wants a mid size SUV instead of a luxury car.

I think VW brought in a few before the DPF was around. I'd look for one of those first. It will be cheaper & stands a better chance for more power.
I wonder how that engine would do in something like a F150. If you could install a set of twins on there...

They have been around sense 04 or 05.They get 19mpg hiway & think they are AWD.

The estimeated MPG is 15 city and 20 HWY, I thought it would be better. I'm assuming they have only been available in the US recently then?
