So I'm thinking about getting the 3.36 gears from a 2011 superduty and putting them in the 05 Ex. Its 90% of the time on the highway and running 75 to 80 mph. I think it will improve the mpg, but I'd like to hear what Dave and anyone else thinks.

It should help MPG some.

Discuss this with your favorite automatic transmission guy and see what he says.

It will be a little laggy in town, and hard on your tranny. Kinda like running 38's with 3:73.
