I have a 2013 6.7L I bought it used and the seller didn’t know nor had the programmer that was used for the truck. It does have a DPF delete and Straight piped 5inch exhaust. Is there a way to find out? Can I just change to a different programmer?

yes you can change, but i believe you are going to have to have the dealer return the computer to stock programming before you start.

limp mode reduces power by around 40% or so. you will still be able to drive it home to put the new tuner in. or just put the new tuner in in the dealer parking lot before leaving.

I don't believe that it needs to go back to stock.

The new programmer will consider the program on the PCM now to be the stock programming and since it will download a whole new program it shouldn't matter.

However if you ever do want to go to a stock programming you will need to take it to the dealer or see if the programmer company can supply you with a stock program.
