Upgraded trans cooler...with fan?

Just be sure to mount it somewhere in front of the Ac-condenser and the engine fan will pull air through it for you.

I've pulled 13,000lbs through the mountains and never seen trans temp over 180*. And mine is mounted behind the bumper.

The deeper pan is a common debate that nobody proves or disproves. I personally dont run one.

If your worried about airflow at lower speeds, maybe a 6.0 fan with a new fan clutch? It helped me immensely.

I just dont like too many fans, especially if at high speed they are going to restrict airflow and cause problems then.

Huh, on a long grade pull on a 85-90 deg day i see 200-215 on the trans. I have an 08 F450 w factory cooler and use synthetic fluid. 180 would be great....not sure how you do that

I bought the TruCool trans cooler from Dieselsite when I bought my trans, as well as an external trans filter, upgraded to all 3/8" lines and deleted the bypass tube. So better flow, better cooling and better filtration.

That might make enough difference that you could measure it, but it might not. How hot is your trans getting now?
Well not higher than what you have recommended over the last couple years. But living in the south and pulling regularly in 86-90 deg hest it will see 215-217 deg, mostly on long grade pulls. I will back out of it asap and it will come back down. Im looking more for piece of mind i suppose. Want it to stay in the 200 or less range

I wouldn't worry about it. Just because other guys are getting lower temps doesn't mean yours is broken or wrong.
